No, no, that doesn’t mean you should take your check and stick it in your pajamas. That would be silly – wouldn’t it?
For years banks have made it easy for us to withdraw money by the use of credit cards, debit cards, checks, and electronic funds transfers. This saved us from having to take time out from our busy lives in order to make a trip to the bank. This, you can do in your pajamas (some people actually think this is in style).
What about deposits?
Until recently, the only way to deposit money to your account without making a trip was to have your employer set you up with direct deposits. Now, select banks are using smartphones to allow you to deposit checks from anywhere, and most importantly, at any time. Yes, you can deposit your check while you’re in your back yard wearing pajamas on a Saturday night at 11:30PM.
How does it work?
In a nutshell, you download your bank’s app, log in, take a picture of your check (front and back), and presto! Done!
Which bank is offering it?
Currently, the only bank from the top 5 that can peek into the future is Chase.
